Mars Opposition Neptune

Mars is direct; Neptune is diffuse. Together they describe inspired action — energy that works best in service of a vision, and dissolves without one. When these two meet in a opposition (180°), the relationship between them takes on the quality of polarity.

An opposition forms when two planets face each other across the chart, one hundred and eighty degrees apart. This is the aspect of polarity — two drives that want opposite things, each defined by its distance from the other. Oppositions often play out through projection: the side you don't claim tends to show up in other people, especially close partners. The aspect's gift is perspective.
